growing up it was either I was going Southern University, Grambling, or the military. I The Vietnam war, and the civil right movement help eliminate the military as an option. Was born on July 6, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1970 finish high school at North Caddo located in Vivian, Louisiana. After high school I enrolled in Southern University, Shreveport - Bossier. My sophomore year of college I attended Southern University, Baton Rouge campus. My major at Southern was Agriculture Economic & Business. I graduate from Southern in 1975. In 1976 I begin my career working for U.S. Department of Agriculture, AMS-Grain Division in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1977 because of the grain scandals the U.S. Congress created a separate Agency of the USDA called the Federal Grain and Inspection Service. Lezo Foley, a college roommate and now a co-worker with USDA introduced me to his sister Deloris. Deloris and I were married on November 23, 1977. We have one daughter Tasha also alum of Southern University. Tasha now lives in Seattle Washington and is married to Samuel Rainwater. They have given us three lovely grand kids JeVante' age 5, Alexandria age 2, and Christopher age 6.
